How does it work?

  • The idea of a lowest unique bid auction is that a bidder tries to be the lowest bidder on an item, and the bid in pence has to be one which no other bidder has placed i.e. the lowest unique bid.
  • A bid fee is charged per bid, this fee is £1 per text message entry plus standard operator rate.
  • At the close of the auction, whoever has placed the lowest unique bid will purchase the product for the cost of their lowest unique bid.
  • All bids are kept secret during the course of the auction.

How do you win?

Here is an example of how the bids may look at the end of an auction.

  • Try and outwit other bidders by placing various strategic bids.
  • Get your bids in early, if there is no single lowest unique bid then the successful bidder is determined by the first person to place a bid.
